Since we have been learning about patterns and it was a beautiful day outside, we went outside to see what patterns we could find in nature and around the school.  If one of the students found a pattern and could explain it, then I took a picture of it.  All the patterns we found are in this video and some of them are described by the students in the class.  Once we got back to the classroom, we were finding many more patterns around the room and on our clothes.  Try finding patterns at home and get your child to describe them and tell you what should come next.

Please write your email address in your child's agenda if you would like to be added to the email list.

Apples, Apples, Apples

Yesterday we made some patterns with apples. I will make a slide show and post it soon to show you what our class can do. We also made applesauce! The process of cutting apples and mashing them proved to be more enjoyable than eating the applesauce. The cinnamon smelled good, but the class as a whole did not enjoy the taste of it, but everyone tried a little.

Please check the updated calendar. I will be sending a new paper copy home tomorrow. Helper days have changed slightly so that I could add out new student.

The applesauce story your child brought home yesterday is theirs to keep at home.
