With Christmas holidays fast approaching, we have been very busy in the Kindergarten classroom. We have been practicing our Christmas concert songs with the Grade 1 and 2s aw well as the whole school, we went on a field trip that was enjoyed by everyone (pictures to follow soon), and we have still managed to learn a few things. We now have a Christmas bakery play area, thank you to all parents that sent things in.
Today we started making gingerbread men. We started by reading the story "The Gingerbread Girl" and talking about what we know about the original Gingerbread Boy story. Then we made the dough together, we practiced measuring, mixing, counting, we learned the names of different baking tools and followed a recipe. We also did dishes when we were finished. On Wednesday, the Grade 7 and 8 students will come help us roll and cut our cookie dough so that we can decorate them on Friday.
